Off-Broadway Premiere of HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL Begins Previews Tonight!
Heathers: The Musical is starting previews tonight at New Stages Theatre. Heathers is based on the 1980s cult classic and was written and composed by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O'Keefe. It is also directed by Andy Fickman. Heathers will officially open March 31.
The cast includes Barrett Wilbert Weed as Veronica, Ryan McCartan as JD, Elle McLemore as Heather McNamara, Jessica Keenan as Heather Chandler, and Alice Lee as Heather Duke.
About the show:
September, 1989. Westerberg High is terrorized by a shoulder-padded, scrunchie-wearing junta: Heather, Heather and Heather, the hottest and cruelest girls in all of Ohio. But misfit Veronica Sawyer rejects their evil regime for a new boyfriend, the dark sexy stranger J.D., who plans to put the Heathers in their place - six feet under. Deliciously, darkly funny, romantic and moving, Heathers: The Musical is a truthful, uplifting parable for anyone who's ever been in love, in trouble, or in high school.
