Gloucester Stage Company continues its 37th season of professional theater on Cape Ann with a limited run of Jason Robert Brown's Songs For A New World from August 4 through August 27 at 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA. Songs For A New World with music and lyrics by three time Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown is a stirring musical journey examining the moments of decision and difficult choices faced in everyday life. Known for such Broadway hits as Parade, The Bridges of Madison County, Honeymoon in Vegas, and The Last Five Years, Mr. Brown artfully blends pop, jazz and gospel in solos and ensemble styles to create this inspiring song cycle.  Directed by Gloucester Stage Artistic Director Robert Walsh, the production features five singers including Tony Award nominee Barbara Walsh, Broadway veterans Rockport's Wendy Waring and Jack Donahue, Berklee College of Music graduate Chris Pittman and  Brandeis' Nyah Macklin, all four in their Gloucester Stage debut. According to Director and GSC Artistic Director Walsh, "Songs For A New World is an enthralling evening of storytelling through song and movement reminiscent of Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris. We are so fortunate to have such a talented group of actor-singers to bring this work to our audience. Atlantic Theater Company just announced casting for the world premiere musical The Band's Visit, directed by Lortel and Obie Award winner David Cromer and featuring a book by Drama Desk Award nominee Itamar Moses, an original score by three-time Tony Award nominee David Yazbekand choreography by Lee Sher.

Bergen County Players, the New Jersey Association of Community Theater's "2015 Community Theater of the Year", is proud to announce its 84th consecutive season, running from September 2016 to June 2017. The Bay Street Theatre's dazzling 25th season continues with a wonderful production of Alfred Uhry's enthralling Tony winning play The Last Night Of Ballyhoo. This thrilling show, running through July 24th, truly has something for everybody. It has laughter, drama, it is cerebral, and enlightens you.

Bay Street Theater's THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO, the Tony Award-winning play by Alfred Uhry, directed by Will Pomerantz, opened this past week. Bay Street Theater has also announced a special talkback on Tuesday, July 19, with guest speaker -- Rabbi Sheldon Zimmerman of The Jewish Center of the Hamptons. The production runs now through July 24.

Victoria Playhouse Petrolia (VPP) is welcoming a four-time Emmy Award winner to its stage for the month of July. MICHAEL LEARNED, best known as Olivia Walton from The Waltons will be headlining DRIVING MISS DAISY, running July 5-24 and will participate in a special event called MISS MICHAEL - In Conversation with Michael Learned, for three shows only, July 27, 28 and 29.

Driving Miss Daisy, the 1988 Pulitzer Prize winning play by Alfred Uhry will be staged this summer at the Players Theatre in Greenwich Village.  The production is part of Be Bold! Productions American Classic series which produced "The Glass Menagerie" in 2015 and stars Catherine Henry as Daisy, Ken Straus as her son, Boolie and Jonathan Rion Bethea as Hoke.  

Rabbi Steven Lebow, of Temple Kol Emeth - Marietta, Georgia who has fought for Leo Frank's exoneration for decades, will be available via Skype after TYA's Sunday June 12 matinee performance for a Talkback with the audience and cast. He has graciously agreed to answer questions about the case and discuss why the Leo Frank story is important today. Also on stage will be TYA Parade cast members who will share how playing real-life people so intimately involved in this tragic story, has impacted their lives.  Join us for the show and this special event.
