The big screen iteration of hit stage musical KISMET, directed by renown movie musical master Vincente Minnelli, is set to hit Blu-ray for the first time today.

BWW Reviews: A Fascinating PRINCE IGOR Finally Makes Back It to the Met

PRINCE IGOR was a glorious mess when Alexander Borodin died suddenly in 18, leaving it to others to finish a work he'd toiled on for nearly 20 years but hadn't quite made whole. With no definitive version of the opera, it was only performed by the Met in 1917--until Dmitri Tcherniakov's new production premiered last week. Musically rich, scenically fascinating, it's good to have it back where it belongs.

Met Live's PRINCE IGOR Broadcast at Town Hall Theater Set for 3/1

Alexander Borodin's defining Russian Epic, Prince Igor, famous for its Polovtsian Dances, comes to the Metropolitan Opera for the first time in nearly 100 years. The highly-acclaimed production can be seen live on the big screen at Middlebury's Town Hall Theater on Saturday, March 1, at Noon.

Paul Garman, Executive Director/Producer, has announced a one-night-only concert version of the acclaimed, rarely produced musical KISMET, presented by Musical Theatre West at the University Theatre on the CSULB campus tonight, June 30 at 7 p.m. KISMET is presented as part of the Reiner Reading Series, which presents concert-style versions of some of Broadway's forgotten gems.

Met Music Director James Levine will return to the Met podium for the first time in two years, conducting three operas with which he has long been associated: a new production of Verdi's final masterpiece Falstaff, Mozart's Cosi fan tutte, and Berg's Wozzeck. Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi will be conducting two operas in the 2013-14 season, Rossini's La Cenerentola and Puccini's Madama Butterfly.
