BWW Interviews: Founder Johnny Hebda on Utah Musical Theatre Company

Johnny Hebda is the founder of an exciting new theatre company in Utah-the Utah Musical Theatre Company. He took the time out of his busy schedule to speak with BroadwayWorld about the theatre's ambitious mission, its debut production, Side Show, and the rest of its upcoming season.

David Darlow to Star in Chicago Shakespeare Theater's JULIUS CAESAR; Full Cast Announced!

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announced today casting for its contemporary retelling of William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, staged by acclaimed British director Jonathan Munby in his Chicago debut, February 5-March 24, 2013 in CST's Courtyard Theater. The production features a celebrated company of artists that includes Jeff Award-winning Chicago actor David Darlow in the title role, Canada's Stratford Festival favorite Dion Johnstone as Marc Antony, New York stage and screen actor Jason Kolotouros as Caius Cassius and British actor John Light as Marcus Brutus. The production also welcomes the return of veteran CST actors David Lively as Ligarius/Lepidus, Barbara E. Robertson as Calphurnia and Larry Yando as Casca.

BWW Interviews: Playing Conjoined Twins in Utah Premiere of SIDE SHOW Challenging Yet Rewarding for Lead Actresses

The lead roles of conjoined twins Violet and Daisy Hilton in the musical 'Side Show' are certainly among the most challenging in Broadway history. Along with performing the rewarding score, the two actresses must simulate their unfortunate 'Siamese twins' connection without gimmicks, because the show includes dream sequences in which they separate. They are literally joined at the hip but must rely solely upon practice-makes-perfect closeness.

Eclipse Theatre Company (www.eclipsetheatre.com), the only theatre company in the Midwest to feature the works of one playwright in one season, continues their 2012 season featuring the works of legendary American playwright Eugene O'Neill with his romantic comedy, "Ah, Wilderness!" directed by Eclipse ensemble member Steve Scott. This will be the second of three productions by America's first great playwright.

Book and lyrics are by Hannah Kohl, with original music by Mark Messing, music director of Chicago's #1 circus punk marching band Mucca Pazza.
