Know Theatre of Cincinnati launched Cincinnati's first ever crowd-sourced production sponsorship opportunity. Called the Club of Jacksons, Know Theatre hopes to raise 1,120 Jacksons ($20 bills), all of which will become the Production Sponsorship for Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (March 31-May 12, 2012).

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) begins performances of the world premiere production FUTURITY: A MUSICAL BY THE LISPS, with music and lyrics by Cesar Alvarez with The Lisps; book by Molly Rice and Cesar Alvarez; directed by Sarah Benson.Performances run from Friday, March 16 through Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the A.R.T.'s second space, OBERON, at 2 Arrow Street, Cambridge.

Last night, March 12th, 2012 Roundabout celebrated Rob Marshall, with the 2012 Spring Gala: From Screen to Stage. Rob Marshall began his career with Roundabout working on celebrated musicals such as She Loves Me, Company, Little Me and the Tony Award®-winning Cabaret. When Hollywood beckoned, he directed and choreographed the biggest film musical in years, the Academy Award® winning Chicago, the summer blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and the star studded NINE among others. The musical Carrie made her return eagerly awaiting return to New York City last night after the show's notoriously short 1988 run on Broadway. This brand new and revised production, now playing at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street), has already extended its run, and will now play performances through April 22, 2012. Tony Award-winning actor Roger Rees has joined the lineup for the Orlando Shakespeare Company's upcoming season, replacing the previously announced Brian Bedford. He'll be performing his one-man show, WHAT YOU WILL, on February 29.

The producers of Peter and the Starcatcher, a new play by Tony® Award-nominee Rick Elice (Jersey Boys), have announced that performances through April 29th are $99 (orchestra and front mezzanine) and $59 (mezzanine), when purchased by the first preview on Wednesday, March 28th.

Coming up at the City Theatre Company this April is Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, with music and lyrics by Michael Friedman and a book by Alex Timbers. Directed by Michael Gray and music-directed by Joe Trainor, it's a raucous ride through an American past that seems awfully familiar to modern eyes. Production runs April 27 through May 12.

Tickets for the Broadway production of PETER AND THE STARCATCHER go on sale today. The producers of Peter and the Starcatcher, a new play by Tony® Award-nominee Rick Elice (Jersey Boys), just announced that the cast of the acclaimed Off-Broadway production will reunite for the show's Broadway Premiere. Christian Borle, a Lucille Lortel winner last year for his performance (and star of NBC's "Smash"), will return as 'Black Stache'; Adam Chanler-Berat (Next to Normal), who recently departed the Off Broadway production of Rent, returns as 'Boy'; and Drama Desk Award-winner Celia Keenan-Bolger (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) will reprise her role as 'Molly,' the titular Starcatcher. Returning cast members also include Teddy Bergman (Seven Minutes in Heaven), Arnie Burton (The 39 Steps), Matt D'Amico (Fizz), Kevin Del Aguila (Jacques Brel...), Carson Elrod (Reckless), Greg Hildreth (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) and David Rossmer (Don't Quit Your Night Job).

Kathy Evans, Founder and Executive Director of the Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, announced that applications for summer 2012 are now being accepted. Musical theatre writers may apply as a team with one musical. The Rhinebeck Writers Retreat provides one-week residencies for writers to work on their musical in a home just outside of Rhinebeck, New York. There will be seven retreats offered in July and August. Applications are due February 15th and there is a submission fee of $25.
