PEOPLE has shared an exclusive first look at Harvey Fierstein and newcomer Maddie Baillio in costume in their iconic roles as Edna and Tracy Turnblad in NBC's upcoming HAIRSPRAY LIVE!.

FOX's live broadcast of GREASE: LIVE made TV history this year by collecting a total of 10 Emmy nominations- the most nominations ever received for a live musical. With the Emmys approaching next month, Lin-Manuel Miranda just hosted a special panel to celebrate the show, featuring Thomas Kail (director), Alex Rudzinski (director), William Ivey Long (costumes), Bernie Telsey (casting), and Aaron Tveit (Danny Zuko).

NBC has revealed new poster art for HAIRSPRAY LIVE! featuring the names of the all-star cast members and the tagline 'We all dance to the same beat!'

The cast of NBC's HAIRSPRAY LIVE, Derek Hough, Kristin Chenoweth, Harvey Fierstein, Maddie Baillio, Jennifer Hudson, and Ariana Grande appeared at the NBCUniversal Summer Press Tour.

It was announced Tuesday that Broadway vets, Sean Hayes and Rosie O'Donnell would be joining the cast of NBC's Hairspray Live! as Mr. Pinky and Tracy Turnblad's gym teacher. This news comes hot on the heels of yesterday's announcement that Disney channel star, Dove Cameron, and Garrett Clayton would be joining the cast as Amber von Tussle and Link Larkin, respectively.

On this morning's TODAY it was announced that newcomer Maddie Baillio has been cast as teenager Tracy Turnblad in NBC's HAIRSPRAY LIVE. Harvey Fierstein, who will reprise his Tony Award-winning role as Edna Turnblad, introduced his fictional daughter and shared that he is currently working on the script which he says may be a little different than the film and stage version of the show. On this morning's TODAY, HAIRSPRAY LIVE's Harvey Fierstein announced that his fictional teenage daughter Tracey will be played by Maddie Baillio!
