HAMILTON Stars Jason Rua and Chris Jackson Read for MAGIC MIKE Musical

As BWW previously reported, a new MAGIC MIKE stage musical is currently in the works from Tom Kitt, Brian Yorkey and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Now, HAMILTON's Jon Rua has posted a photo on Instagram from a recent reading for the show, and it looks like his HAMILTON co-star Chris Jackson was also involved. No word on what this means for MAGIC MIKE's Broadway and/or Las Vegas plans, but BroadwayWorld will keep our ears to the ground. In the meantime, check out the behind-the-scenes photo below!

Channing Tatum, whose voice can currently be heard in the hit animated film THE LEGO MOVIE, turned to Twitter yesterday to reveal that he has begun writing the script to the semi-autobiographical sequeol to MAGIC MIKE.
Lee Daniels' THE BUTLER to Return to Theaters for Oscar Run

Deadline reports that Lee Daniels' “The Butler” will return to theaters beginning this Friday, December 6th, in a last minute push for Oscar recognition. The historical film will play in 1007 theaters nationwide.
