Steep Theatre is thrilled to announce that Vanessa Stalling will direct the ensemble's spring 2017 production of Lauren Yee's Hookman.

Stage Left Theatre announces the recipients of the Downstage Left Playwright Residencies for Season 35. Residencies are designed to help playwrights take a project from the conceptual stage all the way to a production-ready script. Playwrights work closely with ensemble directors and members of the literary team to design a process tailored for the particular needs of their project.  

Steep Theatre will kick off its sixteenth season in September with the world premiere of Alex Lubischer's Bobbie Clearly, directed by Josh Sobel. 

Steep Theatre Company has announced the programming for its upcoming 16th season, which continues the company's tradition of presenting bold plays from today's most exciting playwrights, brought to life by fearlessly honest ensembles and visionary directors. Season 16 will feature a world premiere from Chicago playwright Alex Lubischer, a U.S. premiere from Olivier Award-winning playwright Mike Bartlett, a U.S. premiere from rising English playwright Cordelia Lynn, and a Midwest premiere from California-based playwright Lauren Yee. Steep Ensemble Members and Jeff Award-winning directors Robin Witt and Jonathan Berry will helm two of the productions, to be joined by two guest directors.

Due to popular demand, Route 66 Theatre Company's hit world premiere The Downpour, by Caitlin Parrish, directed by Route 66 Theatre Company's Associate Artistic Director, Erica Weiss is adding one additional week of performances, extending through October 19, 2014. The Downpour is playing at the Greenhouse Theater Center: 2257 N Lincoln Avenue in Chicago.
