Dixon Place announced the recipient of the 3rd Annual Tom Murrin Performance Award, also known as 'The Tommy.' A transformative career opportunity for an emerging NYC-based artist or company, the 2015 award will be presented to Monstah Black, a multi-disciplinary performance artist known for his funk-style musical creations. The 3rd Annual Tommy Award presentation will take place at the Howl! Happening Gallery (6 East 1st Street) on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 5pm as part of the Luna Macaroona Full Moon Performance Series. The event is free to attend.

Relayed through a series of vignettes told from the vantage point of Dumbo's mother (a retired showgirl played by Nolan herself), the extravaganza features fearless performers from her collective BabySkinGlove, including Charley Parden, Viva Soudan, Nessa Norich, Ellen Robin Rosenberg and Wesley Flash. With a pop music soundtrack that includes Mariah Carey, Johnny Cash, Florence and the Machine, Aerosmith and Joni Mitchell, Nolan and companions bridge the gap between unabashed self-indulgence and delicate nostalgia. The tale is told in two acts with a whirlwind of lightly choreographed emotions as explored on the laps of the audience.

James, Joseph Keckler, Chris Sarandon, and Or Matias, on piano, lead LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater production of PRELUDES, a new musical by Dave Malloy, inspired by the music of Sergei Rachmaninov, developed with and directed by Rachel Chavkin. Lincoln Center Theater has announced two new upcoming productions: SHOWS FOR DAYS, a new play by Douglas Carter Beane, to be directed by Jerry Zaks; and the LCT3 production of PRELUDES, a new musical by Dave Malloy, to be directed by Rachel Chavkin. SHOWS FOR DAYS, marks the return of both playwright Douglas Carter Beane (The Nance) and director Jerry Zaks (The House of Blue Leaves, Anything Goes, Six Degrees of Separation) to Lincoln Center Theater, will begin previews Thursday, June 4 and open on Monday, June 29 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. PRELUDES, the first musical to be produced by LCT3 in the Claire Tow Theater, will run from Saturday, May 23 through Sunday, July 19. Opening night is Monday, June 15.

Dixon Place has announced the recipient of the 2014 (second annual) Tom Murrin Performance Award, a.k.a. 'The Tommy.' Intended to a transformative career opportunity to an early career NYC-based artistic or company, this year's award will be presented to Andrew Schneider, a performance / interactive-electronics artist who was previously a seven-year member of the Wooster Group. The second annual Tommy Award presentation will take place at Dixon Place (161a Chrystie Street, New York City) on Sunday, April 27th at 7:30PM. The awards celebration - featuring a special appearance by the 2013 Tommy Award winner, talk-of-the-town performance company ANIMALS, as well as Tom Murrin's wife, Patricia Sullivan -- will be the final stop of a parade of spontaneous outdoor performances, which will commence at closing of the Tom Murrin Full Moon Performance Festival at La Mama. The parade will begin approximately at 6:45pm and travel from East 4th Street to Dixon Place. The Tommy Award party at Dixon Place is FREE, with a cash bar all night.
