Main Street Theater's next Theater for Youth production is E.B. White's loving, delightful, and truly profound Charlotte's Web (adapted for the stage by Joseph Robinette). All of MST's Theater for Youth productions are based on children's literature. Charlotte's Web performs Saturdays, April 20 - May 18 at 1pm and 4pm at Main Street Theater-Chelsea Market, 4617 Montrose Boulevard in the Museum District.

In celebration of Liza's birthday, the duo joined forces last night at The Town Hall to sing familiar songs from 'Cabaret' and Liza dipped into her repertoire of signature songs known the world over. Based on the endearing Little House on the Prairie book series by Laura Ingalls Wilder, Main Street Theater's Theater for Youth is presenting a feel good children's holiday show that the whole family can enjoy. A LITTLE HOUSE CHRISTMAS, adapted by James DeVita, is inspired by the Christmas happenings in Little House in the Big Woods, Little House on the Prairie, and borrows Mrs. Oleson and Nellie Oleson from On the Banks of Plum Creek. The plot of the play revolves around a pre-Christmas party that is being thrown at the Ingalls' home. An unexpected storm threatens to cut off everybody's access to town, so the guests have to make a hurried departure and cut the party short. Continued rains and a ruined bridge threaten to ruin Christmas for Laura and Mary, until they come up with their own plan to preserve the magic of the holiday.

Main Street Theater's Theater for Youth 2012-2013 Season is starting with a resounding QUACK! To help young audiences understand the electoral process in the United States, they are producing the effervescent and spritely comedy DUCK FOR PRESIDENT. The show is based on Doreen Cronin's National Best-Seller by the same title, and features a script by James E. Grote and music and lyrics by George Howe.

Music Director Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic, America's oldest orchestra, came to Walt Disney Concert Hall in the final event of the LA Phil's 2011/12 Visiting Orchestras series, this Wednesday, May 9. Virtuoso pianist Yefim Bronfman joined the program, performing the West Coast premiere of Piano Concerto No. 2, by New York Philharmonic Composer-in-Residence Magnus Lindberg. Also on the program were Dvorak's Carnival Overture and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4. Though Gilbert had previously appeared at Walt Disney Concert Hall (WDCH), most recently during the 2006/07 season, the performance was the New York Philharmonic's WDCH debut.
