The Las Vegas Hilton has announced a listing of upcoming events, shows and concerts.

The New Orleans Ballet Association is one of only twelve national agencies to receive a grant dedicated to fostering the development of arts programs for older adults. One of two agencies in the southeast to receive the award, this year marks the organization's second consecutive year as a grant recipient of the MetLife Foundation Creative Aging Program.

Grammy Award winning saxophonist David Sanborn returns to the Blue Note with a new quartet in support of his upcoming CD, Only Everything (Jan. 26, Decca), the 25th recording of his career. Only Everything features special guests such as Joss Stone and James Taylor alongside jazz veterans like organist Joey DeFrancesco, who will be featured in Sanborn's band at the Blue Note from Feb. 9 - 14. Says Sanborn of DeFrancesco, "Joey knows how to get that sound that's so soulful and yet still has a jazz feel." Joining Sanborn and DeFrancesco will be keyboardist Ricky Peterson and drummer Gene Lake.

Michael Friedman, composer of GONE MISSING and BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, is a very versatile composer. His musical influences range from pop-gospel to literal transcriptions of emails. His interesting composition style is the feature of a New York Times feature, which takes a look at Friedman's inspiration and ability to manipulate unlikely sources into full compositions.
