Stars from the Broadway musicals Bring It On, Mamma Mia!, Spring Awakening, HAIR and Godspell join musical pop songwriter, Joey Contreras at Rockwood Music Hall tonight, August 4th at 9PM. The award-winning songwriter will be premiering new tunes from his upcoming album, Young Kind of Love, in an evening that promises stories of love, heartbreak, and big dreams set to a backdrop of piano-driven pop and addictive hooks.

Stars from the Broadway musicals Bring It On, Mamma Mia!, Spring Awakening, HAIR and Godspell join musical pop songwriter, Joey Contreras at Rockwood Music Hall on Sunday, August 4th at 9PM. The award-winning songwriter will be premiering new tunes from his upcoming album, Young Kind of Love, in an evening that promises stories of love, heartbreak, and big dreams set to a backdrop of piano-driven pop and addictive hooks.

Bring It On premiered at the Alliance Theatre, Atlanta, Georgia in January 2011. The cast included Amanda LaVergne as Campbell, Adrienne Warren as Danielle, Nick Blaemire as Randall and 'award-winning competitive cheerleaders from across the country'. In November 2011, a national tour of the musical started at the Ahmanson Theatre, Los Angeles, through December 2011.

When 18-year old Orange High School senior Miles Sternfeld began preparing for his senior project, he knew exactly what he wanted to do: bring Broadway to Cleveland. And that's exactly what he's done. With the help of mentor, Sean Szaller (who also serves as the production's musical director), Sternfeld set out to produce a one-night only benefit performance of 'The Who's Tommy' which, coincidentally, was the first full blown musical he was in as a child. Miles was also very clear that he wanted all proceeds from this production to benefit Broadway Cares - and Joe Norton at BC/EFA was happy to jump on board to offer his support.

Lyons and Pakchar are a new contemporary writing duo blending Pop/R&B for the Theatre. Their debut album #LOVE, which explores the good, bad, and awkward roller coasters in human relationships, will be recorded live in concert on Monday, August 19th at The Cutting Room at 8pm.

Last night, July 23, Idina Menzel & Taye Diggs were joined by Jenn Colella, Megan Hilty, Tom Kitt, Lachanze, Matthew Morrison, Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and Adrienne Warren for a karaoke night benefitting A Broader Way. Hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, the audience chose the songs and a few bold guests got a chance at center stage. BroadwayWorld brings you highlights from the special event below!

The Broadway at Birdland partnership with multi-Grammy and Tony nominated composer Frank Wildhorn continued on July 15th with another "Frank & Friends" concert. On Monday, June 17, composer Frank Wildhorn brought another installment of his popular 'Frank & Friends' concert to the Broadway at Birdland stage. For this outing, he brought a spectacular band and Broadway singers Teal Wicks (Jekyll & Hyde), Jackie Burns (Wicked) and Darren Ritchie (Wonderland) to celebrate the his Broadway and pop songbook.
