Dark Circles Presents World Premiere Works by Sidra Bell and Joshua L. Peugh

Dark Circles Contemporary Dance's 2018-19 Season continues with its Spring Series including the commission of a world premiere by the highly sought-after choreographer Sidra Bell, founder of the internationally recognized Sidra Bell Dance New York. A new creation by internationally award- winning choreographer and Dance Magazine “25 to Watch” Joshua L. Peugh featuring Tejas Dance—a Bharatanatyam Indian classical dance duo—closes the evening. Performances will run March 22 – 24, 2019 at WaterTower Theatre.

Netflix to Adapt Graphic Novel PASHMINA into an Original Animated Musical

Netflix today announced that it will adapt Nidhi Chanani's highly acclaimed, best-selling graphic novel Pashmina into an original CG animated musical with celebrated writer-director Gurinder Chadha (Bend It Like Beckham), internationally renowned, decorated producer Ashok Amritraj, and Chadha's long-standing writing partner, Paul Mayeda Berges.

Last night (6 March 2019), Andrew Lloyd Webber's award-winning show School of Rock - The Musical celebrated its 1000th performance in the West End at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. The cast were joined in the celebrations by Julian Fellowes, who wrote the book for the show, director Laurence Connor and the show's choreographer JoAnn M. Hunter, as well as VIP guests.

Second Stage Theater has announced SOMMER CARBUCCIA, MATT DALLAL, JAKEIM HART, ERIKA HENNINGSEN, KENNEDY KENAGAWA, ALEC MATHIESON, SARAH NAUGHTON, GABRIELLA PEREZ, JONATHAN RAVIV, NATHAN SALSTONE and KYLE SELIG will perform SATURDAY NIGHT as a part of the special concert series, MUSICAL MONDAYS, in celebration of the acclaimed company's 40th anniversary. NOAH BRADY directs the performance on Monday, March 11th, featuring musical direction by ALEXANDER GEMIGNANI.

Rise Above Performing Arts Announces 2019/20 Season!

Rise Above Performing Arts has announced their upcoming season which will include works by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim, and Lin-Manuel Miranda among others. Rise Above's mission is to bring exceptional talent with a focus on the education and development of the performing arts in the youth of the South Florida community. Museum of Russian Icons presents Jacques' Menagerie

The Museum of Russian Icons will be presenting Jacques' Menagerie: Hnizdovsky Prints from the Christina and George Gamota Collection,March 16 – July 7, 2019, featuring works by acclaimed Ukrainian-American painter and printmaker Jacques Hnizdovsky. Curated by Anna Winestein, director of the Ballets Russes Arts Initiative, the exhibition includes 40 of the artist's iconic prints depicting animals, plants, cityscapes, and narrative scenes, alongside an early oil painting and several rarely seen early works.

Random Access Theatre opens its 2019 season with the World Premiere of Miranda from Stormville by Adam Bertocci. The production, a modern retelling of Shakespeare's The Tempest, runs March 14 - 24 at the IRT Theater in the West Village.  Artistic Director and co-founder, Jennifer Sandelladirects. Bertocci's previous productions include the highly acclaimed, Two Gentlemen of Lebowski (published by Simon & Schuster). Miranda from Stormville is part of IRT's 3B Development Series.

The Barrow Group Presents World Premiere Of Lyle Kessler's PERP

The Barrow Group, under the leadership of Co-Artistic Directors Seth Barrish and Lee Brock and Executive Director Robert Serrell, closes its 2018-2019 season with the world premiere of Perp by Lyle Kessler. Under the direction of Ms. Brock, Perp is scheduled to run at The Barrow Group (312 West 36th St.) from March 16 through April 11, with an opening night of March 25.

Addison Janney's Newest Play, YES BUT I HAVE TO, Premiers At Hard Bargain Amphitheater This Winter

On February 15-18, Yes, But I Have To, a new drama, will premier at Hard Bargain Amphitheater in Accokeek, MD. Written and directed by emerging DC playwright, Addison Janney, and starring Hudson Rhotenberry, Katie Gallagher, and Noa Gelb, Yes, But I Have To is the story of a young couple, Grafton (Rhotenberry) and Emily (Gallagher), who must navigate each other, and themselves, under claustrophobic circumstances. Something has gone horribly wrong. We know only that there has been fear and travel and loneliness and death -- and now winter. Temporarily stranded in an abandoned cabin in the mountains, Grafton and Emily are in the process of being distilled down to their barest selves.

Self preservation subjugates our humanity for the sake of survival. And the pursuit of the American dream causes us to live on the periphery of morality. The Conscious Theater Project is a series of plays written by award winning playwright and social activist Willie Holmes. Holmes explains, 'Each work explores the moral dilemma of a democratic society without social empathy.
