WaterTower Theatre's Community Cast Party Set for Today

Terry Martin, Producing Artistic Director for WaterTower Theatre, today announced details of a new community event called THE COMMUNITY CAST PARTY. The party will be held tonight, September 13, 2014 at WaterTower Theatre from 7 pm to midnight.

Signal Ensemble to Present Jon Steinhagen's DEVIL'S DAY OFF, 10/16-11/22

Signal Ensemble Theatre presents the world premiere and 2014 - 2015 season opening production of Devil's Day Off at Signal Ensemble Theatre, 1802 W. Berenice Ave., October 16 - November 22. The production is directed by Signal Ensemble Member and Co-Artistic Director Ronan Marra and written by Signal Ensemble Member Jon Steinhagen. Opening night is Saturday, October 18 at 8 p.m. Performances will run Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. (There will be no performance Sunday, Oct. 19). Ticket prices are $23 for single tickets, $15 for industry/students/seniors/groups and $12 for previews. NOTE: There will be a Monday, Nov. 3 industry night performance at 7:30pm. Theater Alliance Opens 12th Season with SPARK Tonight

Theater Alliance will open its 12th Season with the World Premiere of Spark by Obie Award-winning playwright Caridad Svich. This gritty, powerful drama tells the story of a veteran returning from war, and the ongoing battle of her and her family to overcome economic challenges, emotional conflict, and the spectre of war that haunts them. Spark also opens a deeper dialogue about a society's responsibility to address its veteran's physical, emotional, and mental needs and break the cycle of abandonment in families.

Long Wharf Theatre to Kick Off 50th Season With OUR TOWN, Feb 26

Using a cast entirely comprised of alumni and members of the community, Long Wharf Theatre begins its 50th anniversary season with Our Town by Thornton Wilder, directed by Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein, from October 8 through November 2, 2014 on the Claire Tow Stage in the C. Newton Schenck III Theatre.

Soho Teen Releases THE UNFINISHED LIFE OF ADDISON STONE by Adele Griffin Today

Two-time National Book Award finalist Adele Griffin has never written anything like this. The Unfinished Life of Addison Stone tells the story of 17-year-old street artist Addison Stone, who burst onto the NYC scene only to die of apparent suicide at the height of her meteoric rise to fame. The novel attempts to discover the truth of Stone's mysterious death and the core of her work through first person interviews with her parents, friends, boyfriends, mentors, critics, and more—punctuated with 63 pieces offull color, original paintings and photographs.

The Blind Owl Presents THE COMING WORLD Through 8/17 at the Prop Thtr

The Blind Owl returns to the Chicago theatre scene with the play THE COMING WORLD written by playwright and Pulitzer prize finalist Christopher Shinn. Directed by founding artistic director Azar Kazemi, THE COMING WORLD is set in Connecticut in a pre-9/11 America. It tackles issues regarding class, violence, intimacy, and the heartbreak that occurs when loving someone is more painful than letting them go. THE COMING WORLD runs August 1st through August 17th. Performances will take place Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm at the Prop Thtr located at 3502 N. Elston Avenue in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood.

John Campione & Kayla Carlyle to Lead WaterTower's BONNIE & CLYDE; Cast & Creative Team Confirmed

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced the cast for the musical Bonnie & Clyde, with music by Frank Wildhorn, lyrics by Don Black, and book by Ivan Menchell, running October 10-November 2, 2014 at the Addison Theatre Centre. The ensemble cast stars John Campione as Clyde Barrow, Kayla Carlyle as Bonnie Parker, David Price as Buck Barrow, Sarah Elizabeth Smith as Blanche Barrow, Anthony Fortino as Ted Hinton, Sonny Franks as the Preacher, Alexandra Doke as Young Bonnie, and Andy Stratton as Young Clyde. The ensemble features Daron Cockerell, Brigitte Goldman, Clinton Greenspan, Kyle Igneczi, Hunter Lewis, Christia Mantzke, Michael Scott McNay, Kelly Nickell, Alan Pollard and Willy Welch.
