PlayCo Announces Cast And Creative Team For Jorge Ignacio Cortiñas' RECENT ALIEN ABDUCTIONS

The Play Company has announced the full cast of the New York premiere of Jorge Ignacio Cortiñas' Recent Alien Abductions (February 21-March 24). Through magnetic characterization and playful yet shattering storytelling, Recent Alien Abductions explores how families-and societies-are haunted by their pasts. Recent Alien Abductions was an acclaimed highlight of the 2017 Humana Festival for New American Plays, where it was hailed as a "dark and unsettling…shape-shifter, a mystery to be unfurled, and ultimately a very human story" (WFPL News Louisville). Performances take place February 21-March 24 at Walkerspace, 46 Walker Street, New York.

BWW Review: PROVING Mazzoli's Place in the New Opera Scene at the Miller in New York

Missy Mazzoli had me with BREAKING THE WAVES, her 2016 opera written with librettist Royce Vavrek at Opera Philadelphia and PROTOTYPE 2017. With PROVING UP--same librettist and with a production also conceived by James Darrah--which had its New York debut this week at Columbia University's Miller theatre, she proved she's a force to be reckoned with.

BWW Review: WELL INTENTIONED WHITE PEOPLE at Barrington Stage Company dares audiences to go beyond getting Woke.

The entire ensemble cast (all newcomers to BSC) deliver unquestionably high-quality performances. Each displaying a range of emotion and dynamics as their characters navigate the windy and often choppy waters with such strength and dexterity that there is not even a moment we doubt them, nor the conviction with which they are compelled to do what they believe to be the 'right thing'.
