SUMMERWORKS 2012 -- the annual season of new plays presented the Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb -- is set for its 17th season May 26 to June 30 at the HERE Arts Center (145 Sixth Ave. at Dominick Street) in Manhattan, it has been announced by Maria Striar, Clubbed Thumb's Producing Artistic Director.

Steep Theatre's 11th season continues on April 12th with the Midwest Premiere of The Receptionist, by Obie Award-winning playwright Adam Bock. Director and Steep Artistic Associate Joanie Schultz returns home to Steep to direct the production. Schultz's past collaborations with the company have earned numerous Jeff awards and nominations, including Steep Ensemble Member Caroline Neff's 2011 Jeff Award for Best Actress for A Brief History of Helen of Troy. Neff and Schultz are back at it again with The Receptionist.
Amphibian Stage Productions today announced casting for its first main stage production of the year, Mr. & Mrs. Fitch, written by Douglas Carter Beane. Krista Scott directs Bradley Campbell and Meg MacCary in this comedy running April 12-29 at The Hardy and Betty Sanders Theatre at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center.
Colt Coeur's Play Hotel reading series will present a staged reading of Adam Bock's Marcy Comes Home on Tuesday, March 13th at 7pm at the CoCo Studio in NYC. TOPHER GRACE and OLIVIA THIRLBY will co-star in Second Stage Theatre's production of Paul Weitz's world premiere comedy, LONELY, I'M NOT, directed by Trip Cullman. Jazz Choreography Enterprises, Inc. presents New York Jazz Choreography Project for its semiannual dance concert devoted exclusively to jazz. JCE features works from emerging to established choreographers, and this year, the performance will feature works from seasoned jazz veterans Sue Samuels and Crystal Chapman. Newcomers include Tyrell V. Rolle, who was featured on 'SYTYCD' in 2010, and Matt Pardo, a dancer from the Lucinda Childs Dance Company.

According to the New York Times, Playwrights Horizons will present FAR FROM HEAVEN, a new musical with book by Tony Award winner and two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Richard Greenberg (Take Me Out, Three Days of Rain), music by Tony Award nominee Scott Frankel (Grey Gardens) and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Michael Korie (Grey Gardens, The Grapes of Wrath), in Spring 2013. The show will also play Williamstown Theatre Festival this summer. The musical was adapted from the acclaimed, award-winning 2002 Focus Features/Vulcan Productions motion picture Far From Heaven, written and directed by Todd Haynes.
