 The American Ballet Theatre’s June Gala returned on Monday, June 13th, in-person to the Metropolitan Opera House after three long years. Westside Ballet of Santa Monica announces plans to 'dance forward' on multiple fronts. Presenting an intimate new workshop performance (which ran the weekend of May 15-16) as a private offering for friends and family of the sixty pre-professional performers, the workshop served as a final bow for seniors moving on to collegiate and professional careers.

Adrian Blake Mitchell, professional male ballet dancer at the Mikhailovsky Ballet Company, will livestream both a Master Class and also will host Westside Ballet's 'Dance Talks' series - Zooming from St. Petersburg on President's Day, Monday February 15, in honor of Black History Month and to support Westside Ballet's ongoing Crisis Relief Fund.

When one of the world's major opera houses announced its plans to present the best-known works of Broadway's Rodgers and Hammerstein over a five-season span, no one had reason to believe that the Lyric Opera of Chicago would present a 'Carousel' starring a slew of Broadway, television, opera and ballet stars alongside the cream of Chicago's theatrical and vocal talent (60 actors, singers and dancers in all), supported by an orchestra of 37 players, and all overseen by the same director and musical director who would bring 'The Sound of Music' and 'Peter Pan' to live television, Carrie Underwood, Christopher Walken and all.

On January 9th, The Phantom of the Opera made Broadway history by becoming the longest-running production ever. The lavish musical, which will also reach its 18th anniversary on January 26th, reached its 7,486th performance on January 9th, overtaking Cats, the previous record-holder.
