Just yesterday, the cast of the Tony Award-winning hit Beautiful celebrated the show's 1500th performance on Broadway. Beautiful opened on Broadway at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 West 43rd Street) on Sunday, January 12, 2014, where it's now in its fourth smash year, making it the longest running show in the history of the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

The 19th annual Broadway Barks, the star-studded dog and cat adoption event benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies, will feature celebrities from the hottest shows currently on Broadway. Today's event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will take place in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenues). Festivities begin at 3 p.m.; celebrity presentations of adoptable pets take place between 5-6:30 p.m. The rain or shine event is free and open to the public.
Bernadette Peters and Broadway Barks have established the annual Mary Tyler Moore Award, which will be given out each year at the event to an individual or group who has changed the lives of homeless animals in a way that encourages others to do the same.

Just yesterday, the cast of Broadway's Beautiful gathered for a pop-up performance of some of Carole King's most famous hits, at a piano designed by the cast to celebrate Carole King's story. Each of the records on the piano represent the 14 Carole King songs in the show with lyrics from the title song, "Beautiful," on the front of the piano. After the month of June, the piano will be donated to a school in need.

Abby Mueller plays the title role in the Broadway company of Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, beginning tonight, March 7, 2017. Mueller, who originated the role in the first national tour of Beautiful, will be taking over for Broadway's current 'Carole,' Chilina Kennedy, while Kennedy heads to her hometown to headline the show at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theater this summer.
