BroadwayWorld talks with Nocturne Theatre co-owner Justin Meyer on directing Little Shop of Horrors, which runs through May 18 in Glendale.

From the second we enter the Morgan-Wixon, ushered in by black cowl-clad members of the Cult of Bat Boy; from the moment we see that pointy-eared effigy strung up to the rafters, we’re primed for two plus hours of four alarm horror camp.

Meghan found time in between all her various duties to answer a few of my queries.

Leo Frank led a comfortable life as a Jewish American in New York City who transferred to Marietta, Georgia to manage his wife’s uncle’s pencil factory. In 1912, he was accused of raping and murdering one of the young factory girls during the town’s July 4th parade, and was brought to trial where he was unjustly convicted. I decided to speak with actor Aaron Ellis on what it means to him to be taking on the role of Leo Frank, especially since the resurgence of racism and antisemitism are running rampant in the world today.

Coterie Theatre debuts 40th season with the Premier of Kevin Willmott's play Becoming Martin. More a coming of age story than history lesson, Willmotts' play is written with families with children ages 11 and older in mind. The show performs through October 21, 2018 (75 minute run time without intermission). You may think you know Rudyard Kipling's THE JUNGLE BOOK, but you may not have seen it through the eyes of playwright Greg Banks who takes the well-known story written in 1894 and brings it into now. Is the story new? Not really. Are there any big surprises? Not so much. Then what makes it new? I believe that it's the refreshing simplicity.

In an original take on a classic story, The Rose Theater will transform into the jungles of India in their upcoming production of The Jungle Book. This thrilling adventure story follows the story of Mowgli, a baby in India who wanders away from his village and into the jungle where he is raised by wolves. The 70-minute production opens at The Rose on Oct. 28 and continues through Nov. 13.
