The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's (CCM) Department of Dance concludes its yearlong 50th anniversary celebration with a demanding and impressive Fall Dance Concert, running Dec. 5-7 in UC's Patricia Corbett Theater. The concert program features ballets by guest choreographers Michael Bearden and Tong Wang, as well as works by CCM Dance faculty members. Department Chair Jiang Qi and Associate Professor of Dance Deirdre Carberry direct.

59E59 Theaters and Strangemen & Co., in association with Robb Nanus and Rachel Sussman, present the return engagement of The Woodsman to 59E59 Theaters, Theater B (59 East 59 Street between Park and Madison Avenues). Directed by James Ortiz and Claire Karpen, with associate direction by Devin Dunne Cannon. The Woodsman begins performances Tuesday, January 13, 2015 and opens Sunday, January 18, 2015. The Woodsman will play a strictly limited engagement through Sunday, February 22, 2015. The exclusive 59E59 Member presale begins on Monday, December 1, 2014 and tickets will be on sale to the general public on Friday, December 5, 2014.

The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra announces the release of its latest album, Carnival of the Animals, under the direction of Pops Conductor John Morris Russell. The recording marks the 93rd Pops recording in its history (adding to an abundant legacy including a Grammy-winner) and the third under Mr. Russell. Carnival of the Animals will appear on the Orchestra's own label, Fanfare Cincinnati, and be distributed by Naxos.

Twelve orchestras and composers have been selected to receive Music Alive: New Partnerships grants of $7,500 each, the League of American Orchestras and New Music USA announced today. Matching composers and orchestras who have not previously worked together, the program will support a series of one-week residencies between 2014 and 2016, each culminating in the performance of an orchestral work from the composer's catalog. Orchestras with operating budgets of approximately $7 million and below were eligible to apply.
