HEDWIG Composer Stephen Trask Gives Talk at CBGB Festival Today

CBGB is having their annual festival from Oct 8th-12th, and they are excited to announce that Stephen Trask, composer of the award-winning musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, will be giving a talk during it. Stephen Trask will speak with A.O. Scott, film critic for the New York Times today, October 10th, at the Helen Mills Theater. Other conversation guests will include Galadrielle Aldman and Erin Davis. The event will begin at 6:00pm.

The New York Film Critics Series, one of the leading word-of-mouth screening companies, has partnered with the nation's leading independent cinemas to present live, national, in-theater screenings. The events are moderated by Peter Travers, film critic for Rolling Stone Magazine and ABC's Popcorn, along with additional coverage by Alison Bailes of BBC, More Magazine, WOR Radio, and The Charlie Rose Show. Stage & Screen, a collaboration between Coolidge Corner Theatre and Huntington Theatre Company that explores the depictions of shared themes in Huntington productions and acclaimed films announces four upcoming film screenings and post-screening conversations with Huntington artists and experts. Life Itself, the acclaimed, life-affirming new documentary about the late film critic Roger Ebert will be shown at Museum of the Moving Image in a preview screening with Ebert's widow Chaz Ebert, Variety film critic Scott Foundas, and filmmaker Rahmin Bahrani in person on Tuesday, June 24. This event is a highlight of the Museum's June/July summer programming that will also include special screenings of Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey in 70mm, a screening of Paul Verhoeven's Showgirls introduced by critic Adam Nayman, and a personal appearance by up-and-coming martial artist Marrese Crump with a screening of The Protector 2, in which he stars with Tony Jaa and RZA.
