The Godspell production company (Columbia Artists Theatricals) has notified management of RiverCenter for the Performing Arts that it is unable to honor its contract to present one performance of that Broadway musical at RiverCenter on January 10, 2014. The cancellation is prompted by an issue with the Canadian Actors Equity Association, whose union contract governs the production.

The New Group launches its 2013-2014 Off-Broadway season with the New York premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Beth Henley's The Jacksonian, arriving in Fall 2013. The Old Globe's Board of Directors today named Michael G. Murphy as Managing Director. Murphy was appointed Interim Managing Director in October 2011 after the resignation of CEO/Executive Producer Louis G. Spisto, who oversaw both the artistic and administrative operations of the theatre.
