DIETRICH Selected For NYNW Festival

'Dietrich," a compelling solo play about iconic German actress Marlene Dietrich, will be featured as part of the New York New Works Theatre Festival. 

NY Public Library To Screen 'Dibukim' And Hold Gesher Theatre Panel

After an absence of five years and under the auspices of the Cherry Orchard Festival, Israel's acclaimed Gesher Theatre returns to New York in early October with its two leading productions The Dybbuk and In the Tunnel. On Tuesday, October 2, just prior to the performances, Gesher Artistic Director Yevgeny Arye and company members invite the public to join them for a free screening on the making of Dibukim, a 60-minute film by Ram Loevy, winner of the honorable mention at the Haifa International Film Festival, which documents the production process of The Dybbuk and follows the creative team and actors during rehearsals. The screening will be followed by a 30-minute question and answer session with Yevgeny Arye and members of the company. This film is in Hebrew with English subtitles. More info & trailer.

Steve Tyrell Returns To Café Carlyle

Grammy Award-winner and two-time Emmy nominee Steve Tyrell celebrates his 14th anniversary performing in the Cafe Carlyle's revered holiday slot with an all-new show, Holidays at the Carlyle, November 27-December 31. Holidays at the Carlyle will feature selections from Steve Tyrell's newly expanded Back to Bacharach album, his 2018 #1 album, A Song For You, as well as various favorites from the Great American Songbook including songs he has performed in major motion pictures, and of course, holiday classics.

Rockin' Rich Lynch Seeks More Followers With New 'Jesus Rock'

Let's go back, back, back in time to November of 1991. Nashville based musician Rockin' Rich Lynch (www.RichLynchBand.com) found himself in the Holy Land of Israel on a tour led by future best-selling author Rabbi Jonathan Cahn ('The Harbinger'). Lynch now returns to the spot as he remembers the moment when he looked down to discover an unusual shaped stone. The story of geological and musical discovery is told in the three minute and forty-two seconds of incendiary and revolutionary song that is 'Jesus Rock'.

Austin Pendleton and Barbara Bleier Return to Pangea in June With Some Known and Unpublished Works

Austin Pendleton and Barbara Bleier are returning to PANGEA, New York's downtown supper club, with a reprise of their show, STARTING HERE- The Songs of Richard Maltby and David Shire. There are two performances scheduled: October 2nd and 9th. Pendleton has been friends with Maltby and Shire since they were all undergraduates at Yale in the 1960s, and had appeared in several of their student productions. The composers have been generous enough to offer some of their unpublished works from earlier and later dates to the duo, and Pendleton and Bleier are thrilled to be performing their work. Paul Greenwood is the Musical Director, and Barbara Maier Gustern directs.

BWW Review: THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND Kander and Ebb Style for Reprise 2.0

Somewhere between its opening of SWEET CHARITY in late June and the end of July, Reprise 2.0 postponed its second scheduled production of its inaugural season, VICTOR/VICTORIA. In its place, the company has mounted a revival of Kander & Ebb's musical revue, THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND, and, while it isn't a rarely revived book musical, which has always been Reprise's focus in the past, it does contain a score derived from some of the best songs in the classic Kander & Ebb catalogue (think CHICAGO and CABARET).

Early Music Ensemble VOX LUMINIS At The Broad Stage. 10/11

Liam Grae Set To Release Debut Single UNIFORM On 10/5

Is there a place for a Southern Gentleman at the top of the music charts? Soul-pop artist Liam Grae is determined to find out. Born in Dallas, Texas, the 25 year old artist first cut his teeth recording demos as a child. He moved on as a stage performer in Germany, then honed his writing skills in Nashville before landing at the epicenter of pop music - Los Angeles, California.

Cynthia Shaw enjoyed her Colorado childhood of piano lessons and music-making. But as time went on she developed bigger dreams: moving to New York to attend the esteemed Manhattan School of Music. However, this goal was a bit more difficult than she expected. As she struggles with her self-sabotaging demons, shaky memorization and insufficient technique, she masters a falling piano, a sweltering practice room, a music-hating neighbor, a condescending teacher and other obstacles that confront an innocent, young classical pianist who has decided to tackle the Big Apple! And the big question is, does she get in?
