MUSICAL SPEED DATING to Showcase Up-and-Coming Writers at The Duplex, 11/10

'Musical Speed Dating', an evening featuring the collaborations of the BMI class of 2013-2014, will play The Duplex on Monday, November 10 at 9:30 pm. The concert will showcase the new works of these up-and-coming writers, as performed by an all-star Broadway cast including Charissa Bertels (A Christmas Story), Ali Ewoldt (Les Mis), Arlo Hill (The Phantom of the Opera) and KJ Hippensteel (The Book of Mormon).

Guests joined playwright Heidi Schreck for dinner at Chez Josephine before a performance of Schreck's play Grand Concourse at Playwrights Horizons. Dates and full casting have been announced for the 2014 - 2015 national tour of I LOVE LUCY LIVE ON STAGE, the hit stage show adapted from the most beloved program in television history, which is produced under license from CBS Consumer Products. The production, which began with extended sit-down productions in Los Angeles and Chicago and became an audience favorite across the country in its inaugural 2013 - 2014 national tour, will launch its new season in Miami on September 30, before hitting the road for cities including Louisville, Baltimore, San Francisco and Madison.

Doug Reside Named New Curator of New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' Billy Rose Theatre Division

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts has named Doug Reside the new Curator of the Billy Rose Theatre Division at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in Lincoln Center. In his new role, effective immediately, Reside will lead a team of staff in expanding access, services, and outreach connected to The Billy Rose Theatre Division, one of the largest and most comprehensive archives devoted to the theatrical arts. Reside succeeds Karen Nickeson, who retired from the position in June.

The producers of All The Way, by Robert Schenkkan, have announced that the show has won every major award for Best New Play this season - the Drama League Award, the Drama Desk Award, the Outer Critics Circle Award, the Drama Critics Circle Award and the Tony Award. For his critically acclaimed portrayal of President Lyndon B. Johnson, Bryan Cranston was awarded the Tony Award for Best Actor in addition to already winning the Drama Desk Award, the Outer Critics Circle Award, and having been recognized with a Theatre World Award.
