Starz, a Lionsgate company (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B), today released the official season six trailer for its #1 hit series 'Power' timed to a celebrated cast appearance at Essence Festival. Cast members Omari Hardwick, Lela Loren, Joseph Sikora, Rotimi, La La Anthony and Larenz Tate appeared together at the festival's Center Stage to give thousands of fans their very first glimpse into season six. Created by Courtney A. Kemp, 'Power' season six premieres Sunday, August 25, 2019 on STARZ, the STARZ app and STARZ ON DEMAND, and culminates with the Final Betrayal played out across an extended 15-episode season.

The Academy Invites 842 To Membership; 50% Are Women

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2019.
Scottish Ballet Celebrates 50 Years In Style

This weekend, Scottish Ballet transformed the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh for the most glamorous night of the year, Scottish Ballet's 50th anniversary. Guests took over the theatre's stage for a dining experience like no other - giant gold pipes and twinkling lights hung from the rafters, bouquets were peppered with golden ferns, even the event finale was dusted with 'SB50' confetti falling from the 'sky'.
David Mixner To Receive Lifetime Legend Award At GMCLA 40/STONEWALL 50 Concert

Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA), one of the country's longest-running and largest LGBTQ arts organizations, will honor David Mixner, a leader in LGBTQ and civil rights for the past 60 years with its Lifetime Legend award for six decades of activism, service, and leadership, at its upcoming gala: GMCLA 40STONEWALL 50 on August 16, 2019, at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. This Concert and Gala will be a mil estone event which concludes GMCLA's 40th anniversary season and commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York City.

A new group of entertainment professionals in the categories of Motion Pictures, Television, Live TheatreLive Performance, Recording and Radio have been selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the full list was announced today, June 20, 2019 at 12:30 P.M. by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce's Walk of Fame Selection Committee. The newest honorees were chosen from hundreds of nominations at a selection committee meeting held in June and will be ratified by the Hollywood Chamber's Board of Directors. Walk of Fameractresssinger Vanessa Williams, a committee member for the 2019-2020 Selection Committee, announced the new honorees with Rana Ghadban, President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

The full list of 2020 Walk of Fame honorees was announced by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce's Walk of Fame Selection Committee today, according to Variety. Chosen from hundreds of nominees during a selection meeting in June, the newest inductees are all top performers in television, live theater, radio and film. Among the honorees is Billy Porter, Tony-winning Broadway actor, who is now known for starring in the hit FX series, Pose.
