Make your list and check it twice! This holiday concert is more than just nice!! A Peter White Christmas with Mindi Abair and Vincent Ingala is coming to town. Contemporary jazz lovers eagerly await this annual fun filled concert, which has packed fans into halls and arenas coast-to-coast year after year.

Encouraged by overwhelmingly positive feedback from guests, artists and sponsors, Dr. Phillips Center today announced it will extend its award-winning Frontyard FestivalTM through mid-December. The festival was originally expected to close June 12.  

Two new shows have been added to the King Center's upcoming lineup: Ultimate 70's ‐ An evening with Firefall, Orleans, Pure Prairie League and A Peter White Christmas featuring special guests Mindi Abair and Vincent Ingala.

Sandy Shore's Jazz Weekender hosted by Nathan East proposes a new way to gather around live music. With a focus on comfort in an intimate, high-fidelity venue, renowned recording artists will perform"seamless sets" of music, that will segue from special guest to special guest without interruption. Encouraging artful collaboration, Jazz Weekender headliners will share crossover songs as they mix in and out of the set, while performing with the some of the most recorded musicians in the world. Global Radio visionary,  Sandy Shore, introduces the element of surprise, as she curates live music sets -- making things exciting for audiences and artists alike.

New York Wine Events is pleased to announce its third summer season of Jazz in the Vines at Jamesport Vineyards located on the North Fork of Long Island. The contemporary jazz series is presented by Long Island Wine Country and I Love NY and features shows on Saturdays, August 11, August 25, and September 1. Doors open at 6pm; show time is 7pm.

The eighth annual Are You Dense? MusicFest headlined by Las Vegas-based Elvis impersonator, Justin Shandor, is taking place at the Palace Theater in Waterbury on Saturday, Jun. 18. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a silent auction, raffle and music by The Sounds of Leo, and the show begins at 7:15 p.m. Proceeds from the event benefit Are You Dense Inc., a global organization founded by Woodbury resident Dr. Nancy M. Cappello to educate the public about the impact of dense breast tissue on missed, delayed and later stage breast cancer and to increase survival in the fight against breast cancer. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased online at www.palacetheaterct.org, by phone 203.346.2000 or at the Palace Theater Box Office, 100 East Main Street, Waterbury. V.I.P. tickets are $75 and include premier seating, as well as a post-show reception and meet-and-greet with the evening's performers.

For the first time, Jim Caruso's Cast Party, the extreme open mic, took to the high seas. The weekly event that has been running at Birdland for the past eight years was booked on the "Dave Koz & Friends" jazz cruise to Alaska, and Cast Party At Sea became the after-hours place to sing and be seen! Joining Caruso and musical director/accompanist Billy Stritch on the beautiful Rhapsody Of The Seas were jazz and R&B superstars Chris Botti, Jeffrey Osborne, Sheila E., Kirk Whalum, David Benoit, Jake Shimabukuro, Monica Mancini, Spencer Day, and the host-with-the-most, sax-man Dave Koz.
