The CM Performing Arts Center has just entered the middle of their run of the ABBA Smash Hit Musical - MAMMA MIA! While they're enjoying partying it up in Greece, rehearsals have started for their next two upcoming Main Stage productions which will transport patrons from Greece to Ancient Egypt with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and then turn-of-the-Century New York City with Disney's Newsies.
Marrying the musical genius of Stephen Schwartz and the masterful energy of Bob Fosse, PIPPIN transports the audience through time and space as we follow a mysterious traveling carnival, led by a tantalizing Leading Player, to tell the story of Pippin. Pippin, a young prince, is on a quest to derive meaning and purpose out of his self-described extraordinary life. Intrigue and plots to bring disaster ensue as Pippin is led closer and closer to our Grand Finale by the ever alluring Leading Player. Featuring humor, romance, illusion, fantasy, battles, and most of all magic, PIPPIN will leave you with a Finale they won't soon forget.
The incarnation of Bullets Over Broadway, The Musical at Oakdale's Noel S. Ruiz Theatre at CM Performing Arts Center (CMPAC), is certainly an enjoyable one. Strongly directed by CMPAC Artistic Director Patrick Grossman, the Long Island premiere, running through August 11th, spectacularly closes out the venue's thrilling 42nd season. And let me tell you this cast is absolutely wonderful.

In a Grease-meets-Romeo & Juliet type of tale, the Tony nominated musical Cry-Baby brings loads of laughs. The Long Island premiere - running through May 12th at The Noel S. Ruiz Theatre at CM Performing Arts Center (CMPAC) - is superbly directed by Patrick Grossman - the Artistic Director of the Oakdale venue - and boasts an extraordinary cast. I've long admired the top notch comedic talent we have here on Long Island and the artists in this production certainly deliver sidesplitting performances.

Some may have called this a tourist trap , but you will find that the story is as relevant as ever. Ruiz Theatre at CMPAC. In a strong main stage directorial debut, CMPAC vet Matt W.
