Just last night, Drama Desk and Tony Award winner Laura Benanti ('The Sound of Music Live!', Gypsy, Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) hosted the 59th Annual Drama Desk Awards at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street). Big winners for the night included Audra McDonald, Bryan Cranston, Jessie Mueller, and Neil Patrick Harris and Jefferson Mays- who tied for Outstanding Actor in a Musical.

"Divorce - The Musical…Better Mad Than Sad," created by Ruthe Ponturo, will deliver eight showcase performances beginning tonight, September 28, 2012 at the Triad Theater in New York City at 158 West 72nd Street. The eight performances will be the first productions of the comedic cabaret.

Former St. Louisan Ruthe Ponturo stars in DIVORCE THE MUSICAL: BETTER MAD THAN SAD in New York City, along with Parkway Central alum Emily Peterson and Lindsay Naas. Parkway Central alum Dana Wilson is also part of the cast. The workshop production opens Sept. 28 and was co-written and produced by Ponturo.

Last night, September 19, Rosie O'Donnell hosted a special event honoring Nancy Coyne, CEO of Serino Coyne, Ruth Ponturo, Teacher/Choreographer and Marva Smalls, EVP of Public Affairs & Chief of Staff to benefit Rosie's Theatre Kids Foundation. Along with creative samplings from some of New York City's most celebrated chefs, pairings from several premier wineries and specially designed cocktails by the city's top mixologists, the evening will also feature original performances by several ABT dancers.
