The Phoenix Theatre Stages Lorca's BLOOD WEDDING with Two Live Performances in Two Languages


The Phoenix Theatre enters the summer season with a live online production of a Federico García Lorca classic inspired by a true story about a fatal feud between two families. This live virtual performance of Lorca's Blood Wedding (Bodas de Sangre) will be performed Friday, June 4 at 8 p.m. in English and Saturday, June 5 at 8 p.m. in Spanish.

Managing Director Michael Hajek directs the live performances that run October 9-11 online via the company's YouTube Channel. Audiences can also connect to it from the company's website at www.thephoenixtheatrepa.com. Audiences can view the show for free. The company is suggesting a $20 per household donation.

The Phoenix Theatre rises in Chester County this summer with its inaugural production. In residence at SALT Performing Arts in Chester Springs, this brand-new company dedicated to re-envisioning classics, producing bold contemporary pieces, and forging new works, debuts with a production of William Shakespeare's The Tempest. This magical production is set to run July 5-21. Opening night is July 6 at 7 p.m. All shows will be performed at SALT Performing Arts, 1645 Art School Road, Chester Springs. Tickets for The Tempest are already on sale online at www.thephoenixtheatrepa.com. Tickets cost $25 for adults, $17 for students and seniors, and anyone under 18 will be admitted for free to The Tempest.

Site-Specific Production of PROOF to Open 8/21 at Sycamore Hill


A production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Proof, by David Auburn, will open Thursday, August 21 for a four-performance run at Sycamore Hill, the home of Drs. Veronica Covalesky and Nick Leasure, at 481 Ebelhare Road in Pottstown, PA. Directed by Seth Reich, the production features a cast of New York actors who will perform the play on the actual porch of the Sycamore Hill home.
