BIO
Sheldon Skoboloff (he/him) is a writer, director, and sound designer, known far and wide as the inventor of the mocha (don’t look it up.) Born to a Latino Jewish family in Las Vegas, Nevada, he’s always been deeply interested in understanding and studying culture, spending countless hours falling down Wikipedia rabbit holes trying to figure out exactly what he is (we still don’t know.)
To investigate further, Sheldon left home and attended the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television as an Alumni Scholar in the Integrated Studies program. Recently, he wrote, co-directed, and produced his first full length play YOU NEVER EXISTED (Bay Area Playwrights Festival 47 Semi-Finalist) at the Kerckhoff Grand Salon with Out of the Blue Theater Company and ASUCLA.
More of Sheldon’s non theatrical writing can be found at Hey Alma (College Writing Fellow), Business Insider, FAST AT UCLA, The Listening Dolls, and his new Substack “Shelsko Shouts.”
Since graduating, Sheldon has served as the Special Events Assistant at La Jolla Playhouse the Paul A. Kaplan Marketing Trainee at Manhattan Theatre Club. He is currently a member of Theatre Write Now Cohort Three and is the Learning and community Engagement Coordinator at Manhattan Theatre Club.
