Shea King BIO

Shea is a theatre instructor at Columbia Basin College in Washington and a freelance director. He is a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC) and holds an MFA in directing from the University of Idaho.

Shea has directed at theatres such as the acclaimed Bay Street Theater, Redwood Curtain Theatre, The Rude Mechanicals, At Home Artists Project and the Lake City Playhouse.

Shea directed a reading of Lauren Gunderson's Natural Shocks as a part of her national campaign of theatre against gun violence. Shea's reading was the sole reading representing the state of Idaho and it starred Kelly Quinnett. In February 2018, Shea directed the premiere concert reading of Steve Yockey's To Tokyo and the Moon. This reading was a commission from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival's National Playwriting Program.

He has recently been appointed the Region 7 Irene Ryan coordinator for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.

Bay Street Theater to Host Free Open Rehearsal of OBAMA-OLOGY


Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the first ever all intern production, OBAMA-OLOGY by Aurin Squire and directed by Shea King is now in rehearsal. This production will be directed, produced, designed, and acted entirely by the College Intern Company at Bay Street Theater. Performances run from August 9 - 11, with twilight performances at 4 pm at Bay Street Theater. OBAMA-OLOGY is a one act production with no intermission. The show contains some profane language.

Bay Street Theater Announces Its First Ever Intern Production

This production will run as the first show ever directed, produced, designed, and acted entirely by the summer intern company at Bay Street Theater. Performances run from August 9 - 11, 2018, with twilight performances at 4 pm.  Tickets are $12 or $10 for students (available at the Box Office only, with student ID.)

One21 Collective is proud to present Men To Be Feared as part of the 16th annual New York International Fringe Festival, August 10-26, 2012. Written by Rebecca Jane Stokes and directed by Sherri Eden Barber, the production will premiere at the Connelly Theater.
