Founded in 1994 by master choreographer Dwight Rhoden and the legendary Desmond Richardson, COMPLEXIONS Contemporary Ballet returns to The Joyce to serve up thought-provoking and entertaining contemporary ballet performed by acclaimed dancers.

Bohnett Chief Executive Officer Chair of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, today announced the completion of the LA Phil's new executive team with the hiring of Emanuel Maxwell as its Chief Talent & Equity Officer and the promotion of Summer Bjork to Chief of Staff and Daniel Song to Chief Operating Officer. Maxwell, Bjork and Song join Renae Williams Niles, Chief Content and Engagement Officer; Karen Sturges, Chief Financial Officer; Margie Kim, Chief Philanthropy Officer and Mona Patel, General Counsel in comprising the LA Phil's new leadership, and all report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Linda Shelton, Executive Director of The Joyce Theater Foundation, announced today the return of in-person programming at the New York City dance organization’s home with its Fall 2021/Winter 2022 season.

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, presents Dance Lab New York and The Joyce Theater Foundation Lab Cycle: Female Choreographers of Color in Ballet on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 7:30pm.

Dance Lab New York (DLNY) will partner with the Joyce Theater Foundation to provide a one-of-a-kind choreographic lab for four female choreographers of color to explore the classical, neoclassical, and/or contemporary ballet idioms. As part of this first-time collaboration, each choreographer will receive thirty hours of incubation in rehearsal space provided by the Joyce Artist Residency Center. DLNY will provide a weekly stipend, eight paid professional dancers, a rehearsal director, insurance, and administrative support. The Lab will take place October 14 through November 8, 2019 with a showing on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Guggenheim's Works & Process.

Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts is teaming up again with Los Angeles  magazine to present Center Stage:  Mapping the Ecology of Dance in Los Angeles, a dynamic discussion with both established and emerging leaders in LA's dance world on May 17, 2018 at 9:00 am. This two-part panel will explore the exciting and explosive growth of dance in Los Angeles in recent years and the influences that have made it possible. Admission is free, but reservations are required.This special event, taking place in advance of Dance USA's 10thAnnual Conference in Downtown Los Angeles, will also be available as a Facebook Live stream on The Wallis' Facebook page.

Heightening its role as a powerful commissioning force, Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center - The Music Center's acclaimed dance series - is introducing an exciting new chapter in dance with the world premiere of BalletNow, an original three-performance program for which American Ballet Theatre Principals Roberto Bolle and Herman Cornejo are serving as artistic directors. Bolle and Cornejo have formed an international ensemble of 18 major dancers from 12 foreign countries for three distinctive performances, with many of the dancers performing at The Music Center and in Southern California for the first time.
