Passes Now Available to the Public for NAMT's FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS


The National Alliance for Musical Theatre has announced that the public can attend NAMT's 32nd Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS by making a donation to NAMT ($30 donation for one day / $50 donation for both days).

National Alliance for Musical Theatre has announced this year's directors, musical directors and casting for their 32nd Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS, on Thursday, November 19 and Friday, November 20, 2020. Due to the pandemic, the Festival will be reimagined and shared online through Broadway On Demand. Events will kick off on November 17.

BWW Review: THE SOLITUDES is a Personal Look Into Women's Lives and Bloodlines That Struggles to Find a Narrative


Aluna Theatre and Nightwood Theatre's production of THE SOLITUDES, directed by Bea Pizano, is an interesting glimpse into the lives of eight very different women's lives, histories, and bloodlines. Despite strong creative elements and performances, the dozens of ideas that are brought up rarely connect; at times this might be intentional, to show the differences between the women, but even in moments where there is opportunity for connection and healing over common trauma, actors remain isolated in their own stories.

Jacquie P.A. Thomas Honoured With George Luscombe Award


On Tuesday May 28, 2019 during the 40th Dora Nominee Press Conference at the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres, Jacquie P. A. Thomas was honoured with the George Luscombe Award for Mentorship in Professional Theatre. The George Luscombe Mentorship Award was inaugurated in 1999. Revolutionary theatre founder and artistic director George Luscombe founded Toronto Workshop Productions (TWP) in 1959, marking the beginnings of Toronto's alternative theatre movement. He was Artistic Director for 27 years at TWP.

Nightwood Theatre Announces its 2019/20 Season

Pacamambo, premiered in French in Montreal in 2000. Conceived as a play for children about death, it is a life-affirming and magical theatre experience for audiences of all ages. It tells the story of Julie, a young girl teetering between denial and rage, who disappeared for 23 days until discovered in her grandmother's apartment basement storage locker with her dog, Growl, and the badly decomposing body of her grandmother.
