The Louis Armstrong House Museum's annual Jazzmobile Block Party on Thursday, August 25, 2016 features the Steve Kroon Sextet. Jazzmobile block party is the grand finale to the museum's Summer with Satchmo season.  It's a free, family-friendly event featuring art-making workshops sponsored by the Queens Museum and hula hoop fun beginning at 4:00 pm.  At 5:30 pm, Fulanito, the Latin Grammy nominated Merengue band will perform and warm up the crowd.  Downbeat for Steve Kroon and the Latin Jazz Sextet is at 7:00 pm.   The museum will be open late until 8:30 pm.

In an unprecedented collaboration, the Louis Armstrong House Museum in New York City and the Louisiana State Museum in New Orleans have partnered on the exhibit: Satchmo: His Life in New Orleans to tell the story of Louis Armstrong's complex relationship with his hometown. The exhibit will coincide with the 100th anniversary of his first professional gig at Henry Ponce's in New Orleans in 1915.

CoolYule! is the museum's first tree lighting ceremony featuring live jazz with Ben Flocks Trio and holiday treats. CoolYule! is free and open to the public. To celebrate the significance of the Louis Armstrong Archives, the Louis Armstrong House Museum debuts the new exhibit: 20 Years of the Louis Armstrong Archives. The exhibit features a selection of one-of-a-kind mementos from the different research collections many of which are on public display for the first time.

Hear the rare recording of Louis Armstrong's magical reading of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas (A Visit from St. Nicholas).' Enjoy holiday cheer this year at the Louis Armstrong House Museum with the museum's annual holiday tours! In keeping with Louis and Lucille's tradition, the house will be brightly decorated. From December 3rd through December 29th 2013, house tours will feature rare audio clips from Louis's personal recordings of himself and family celebrations at home. Listen to Louis's magical voice reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas (A Visit from St. Nicholas)' and other seasonal favorites such as 'Zat You Santa Claus' and Louis listening to Nat King Cole sing 'All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth.' Free candy canes included with museum admission.

The Louis Armstrong House Museum will participate in the first annual NYC Black History Month 5 Boro Tour, beginning February 1, 2013. The 5 Boro Tour includes nine sites across all 5 Boros. Each cultural and historic site will offer rich programming to celebrate Black History Month.

African Burial Ground National Monument, Langston Hughes Community Library & Cultural Center - Queens Library, Louis Armstrong House Museum, MoCADA, National Jazz Museum in Harlem, Sandy Ground Historical Society Museum, Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture - New York Public Library, Weeksville Heritage Center and the Woodlawn Conservancy have organized this city-wide cultural program.

The Louis Armstrong House Museum Gala will be held today, December 4, 2012 at the Manhattan Penthouse, 80 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10011. The cocktail hour begins at 6:00 pm; dinner and the awards ceremony follow at 7:15 pm featuring a special performance by David Ostwald's Louis Armstrong Centennial Band. Business attire is welcome.

These house tours will feature rare audio clips from Louis's personal recordings of himself and family celebrations at home including an at-home reading of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, A Visit from St. Nicholas.' The tours will also feature seasonal recordings including: 'Zat You Santa Claus" and Louis listening to Nat King Cole sing 'All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth" with an impromptu duet by Louis himself.
