Andy Warhol and Photography Public Programs Announced in Adelaide

Andy Warhol's close friend and collaborator, Christopher Makos, will travel from New York City to join Andy Warhol and Photography: A Social Media curator Julie Robinson in conversation as part of the exhibition's opening weekend program.

Andy Warhol & Photography: A Social Media is Exclusively At Art Gallery Of South Australia

The first exhibition in Australia to explore Andy Warhol's career-long obsession with photography will open at the Art Gallery of South Australia in March, as part of the 2023 Adelaide Festival. Exclusive to Adelaide, Andy Warhol & Photography: A Social Media will reveal an unseen side of the celebrated Pop artist through more than 250 works, spanning photographs, experimental films, screenprints and paintings. 

Jennifer Jasper, in association with JewelBox Theater, presents a monthly cabaret all about family. Family Affair, hosted and curated by Jennifer Jasper. Storytellers, dancers, writers, musicians and artists share their hilarious, twisted and ultimately relatable familial skeletons on the third Today of each month. As needed, each performance benefits a family in the artist community who has had an unforeseen crisis. The evening closes with a new story randomly drawn from Jennifer's kooky family album of Jasper Jewels.

Staged side by side, The World of Mortimer Menpes: painter, etcher, raconteur and Dorrit Black: unseen forces reveal the pioneering role that each artist played, albeit in different circles and at different times. These two retrospectives, running from Saturday 14 June to Sunday 7 September 2014, will celebrate the life work of two influential, Adelaide-born artists.
