Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is pleased to announce actor and director D.W. Moffett's appointment as chair of the university's film and television department. Moffett joined SCAD's faculty in the fall as an honorary professor and assumed his new role with SCAD's winter academic quarter. Moffett brings his professional expertise to this leadership role within the School of Entertainment Arts to advance the career preparation and range of academic experiences for SCAD students.

Joey Arias would like your attention, and he's not afraid to ask for it. In fact, on a dozen or so occasions during his performance of JOEY ARIAS IS WITH YOU NOW at Joe's Pub on October 9---the second in his three-show residency---he straight-up demanded the crowd's attention, shouting, 'Look at me!'

Joey Arias, vocalist/songwriter/actor/performance artist/host, has been on the scene here since the 1980s. Visually and vocally distinctive, Arias's signature black bangs and ponytail have been on stages such as Club 57, Astor Theater, HERE, and Abrons Art Center--not to mention playing Mistress of Seduction at Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity in Las Vegas.  To say the physically diminutive Arias is larger than life is a comment on her fully inhabited, unique presence and talent. On May 30 (the third of seven show run through late July), she's aided and abetted in Little Black Book (no idea what the title means) by Musical Director (and superb bass player) Ben Allison and guitarist Brandon Seabrook.

Lea DeLaria will release her latest solo recording, 'The Live Smoke Sessions,' on September 9th.
