World Premiere Of Psychedelic New Musical HAIL CREMATION! Comes to Newbridge Memo


National Theatre Wales (NTW) presents Jon Tregenna's brand new musical Hail Cremation! a psychedelic fusion of live music, dance and video celebrating the extraordinary life of Victorian Welsh radical Dr William Price, regarded as the pioneer of modern cremation and a passionate Welshman. Hail Cremation! is directed by Adele Thomas (The Knight of the Burning Pestle (Shakespeare's Globe), Berenice (Royal Opera House/International)) and will star Matthew Bulgo, Gruffudd Glyn, Lee Mengo and Seren Vickers, with dancers Iestyn Arwel, Ella Biddlecombe, Elan Elidyr and Kyle Flaherty. The musicians are Stephen Black (of Sweet Baboo), Tom Cottle, Aidan Thorne and Paul Jones. Hail Cremation! runs at Newbridge Memo in South Wales from 23 March to 4 April and opens the NTW 10th anniversary year, led by new Artistic Director Lorne Campbell.

Each Urban Campfire is a unique and immersive event that does away with lines between artist and audience, engendering a true collaborative community. 

National Theatre Wales Presents BEFORE I LEAVE, May 27


National Theatre Wales' next production, Before I Leave, will be a moving and uplifting production written by Patrick Jones and directed by Matthew Dunster (who directed the multi-award-winning Mametz for NTW in June 2014). It will feature covers of well-known songs by artists ranging from Tom Jones to the Sex Pistols, plus a new song by Nicky Wire and James Dean Bradfield of Manic Street Preachers, and will be performed at the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff.

National Dance Company Wales Sets Spring Tour 2016


The award-winning National Dance Company Wales, under the artistic directorship of recently appointed Caroline Finn, announces its Spring Tour 2016.  Folk, a world premiere choreographed by Finn, Tuplet by Alexander Ekman and works by Johan Inger, Lee Johnston and Jeroen Verbruggen will tour to venues in Wales and England from 4 February to 14 May 2016 (full tour schedule included).
