PrideArts Artistic Director Jay Espano (he/him/his) today announced a series of four Monday night cabaret performances by Chicago area musical theater and cabaret artists at the Pride Arts Center, 4139 N. Broadway.
Written by Malou Jacob, Rene Villanueva, and Honorio Magbalic and directed by Nonon Padilla, with production design by Marcel Hythladeus. Cast members include Gary Lim, Irma Adlawan, Jay Espano, Lino Costales Jr., Jon Cuyson, Lily Grace Ramos, and Ana Jacinta Trinidad.

Performances at the theatre, 288 Shady Oak Drive in Michigan City, are free and audiences are limited to 50 persons. Advance reservations are required and donations are welcome.

Palm Canyon Theatre will present a Valentine-themed concert fundraiser, From Broadway with Love… Backwards, with about 21 performers including many favorite company members and special guests. Although the concert is an annual fundraiser for the 24-year-old theatre, this year – with so many things a little different – PCT decided to “flip the script.” During the concert, men will sing songs originally written for women, and women will sing songs originally written for men.
Just in time for Pride, Palm Canyon Theatre has rolled out a new production of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, and she is firing on all cylinders! PCT did a knockout production of the show a few years ago and it was so good, I was concerned about the new staging, many new actors, new set, etc. I had no need for worry. The new production is probably even better than the first!

A community, non-profit theater company based in Peoria, Theater Works, and its latest production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's 1951 Broadway musical THE KING & I, which was based on the 1944 novel 'Anna and the King of Siam' by Margaret Landon, will run until Sunday, October 16 at Peoria Center for Performing Arts.
