The Building Stage Announces DAWN, QUIXOTE, Opening 3/22

The Building Stage's Founder and Artistic Director Blake Montgomery announces that the world premiere of Dawn, Quixote, conceived and directed by Montgomery, at The Building Stage, 412 N. Carpenter Street in Chicago's West Loop, March 22 - April 27 will be the final production for The Building Stage. Previews are Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 24 at 4 p.m. Opening/press night is Monday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m. The regular performance schedule is Thursday - Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. Tickets for the previews are students/children: $5, adults: $15 and for the regular run, students/children: $15/$20 and adults: $25/$30. Tickets may be purchased at buildingstage.com or by calling The Building Stage box office at 312.491.1369.

Again., created and performed by The Building Stage's Founder and Artistic Director Blake Montgomery, at The Building Stage, 412 N. Carpenter Street in Chicago's West Loop, November 29 - December 24. The House Theatre of Chicago Appoints New Managing Director

The House Theatre of Chicago announced that Brian Frederick has come aboard as the company's new Managing Director, a role which has been vacant since 2010. The staff is further expanded with the recent addition of Chelsea Keenan as the Director of Audience Development and Company Member Chris Mathews as the Communications Manager. The House launches its 11th Season with Artistic Director Nathan Allen's first brand new work in over two years, The Iron Stag King: Part One.

The Building Stage Closes THE RING CYCLE, 3/13

The Building Stage, a Chicago theater company noted for its unique retellings and adaptations of various media to the stage presents their newest and largest endeavor to date: The Ring Cycle. The Ring Cycle is a non-operatic theatrical re-imagining of the famous Richard Wagner opera cycle, The Ring of the Nibelung. Utilizing original music, circus arts and puppetry in conjunction with the libretti, this epic project will synthesize 16 hours of opera into a six-hour theater piece co-directed by The Building Stage Artistic Director Blake Montgomery and Associate Artistic Director Joanie Schultz. The six-hour production includes two short intermissions and a dinner break. Ticket buyers are invited to pack a picnic or purchase snacks, meals and drinks at the theater. The dinner available for pre-purchase is a $10 boxed sandwich dinner from the popular family-owned Bari Foods (vegetarian options available). Patrons will be greeted with a complimentary cup of hot coffee or cocoa upon entrance and during the dinner break everyone is invited to picnic on the stage with their meal or snacks.
