BIO
Ashanti J’Aria has lived many lives career wise. From originating a lead role in Tony award winner Casey Nicholaw’s first National Broadway Tour of ‘The Prom’ to traveling the world lending support vocals to Grammy award winning artists including Gloria Gaynor, Ronnie Spector, and Herb Reed’s Platters. Most recently she was the Broadway guest artist For the Disney Wish, playing Ursula in the Little Mermaid, and Peddler in Aladdin. Other credits for the NYC native include Chicken and Biscuits (pre-Broadway), Seth Rudetsky’s (off-bway)‘Disaster’, Tony Award winner Andy Sandberg's 'The Last Smoker In America’ (off-bway), and regional productions of Little Shop of Horrors, Beehive,Caroline Or Change and the American premiere of Da Kink In My Hair (NAACP award winning production). Ain’t misbehaving under the Guidance of Ken Page and guest Artistic director Hunter Foster at Cape playhouse. Film work include the title role in feature film; Maya and Her Lover (Allblk network) Ms J’Aria Served as associate producer and wrote/produced/recorded the song “you get to choose” for the soundtrack with Nile Rodger’s Music Engineer and right hand man, Russell Graham.
