Amanda Prasow BIO

Amanda Prasow is a graduate of the drama program at the University of Toronto and studied contemporary dance and dance theatre at Lancaster University in England.

A keen interest in international development and documentary-making led her to the South Pacific island nation of Vanuatu. From 2007-2009, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer and directed her first feature-length documentary, Kokoru-Kamam.

Since her flight home stopped in New Zealand, she got off the plane and accidentally stayed three years, improvising with Auckland Playback Theater and performing with Clown Doctors New Zealand. She dipped more than a toe in the water in the Wet Hot Beauties' aquatic Fringe hit Sirens and played the title role in A.R Gurney's Sylvia at the Pumphouse Theatre.

Since returning to New York in 2012, she can be found improvising at the PIT, performing with Articulate Theatre Company and developing offbeat romantic comedies about angsty people. She is an active program producer for New York Women in Film & Television.
