'Working: A Musical' is driven by the honest words of real people sharing why they work at what they do. The show is packed with with monologues and songs of people working various jobs put to music. The result of the varying talent of multiple composers sadly gives the show periodically draggy lyrics and music.

Winner of three TONY Awards, three Outer Critic's Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards, and two Obie Awards, Urinetown is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, municipal politics and musical theatre itself! Hilariously funny and touchingly honest, Urinetown provides a fresh perspective of one of America's greatest art forms.

UAB (The University of Alabama at Birmingham) is known for its world class medical school and hospital and lately for having its football program cancelled and then reinstated. But what you might not realize is the superior theatre department that UAB has. After seeing SPRING AWAKENING there last night, I am convinced that UAB has one of the top theatre programs in the state, if not the country.

Musical theater students at the University of Alabama at Birmingham are exploring a story of teenagers discovering the inner and outer tumults of sexuality in the controversial Tony Award-winning play "Spring Awakening."  Check out a first look at the cast in action below!

Here is Rydell High's senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding 'Burger Palace Boys' and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking 'Pink Ladies' in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the time in this rollicking musical. Head 'greaser' Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their 'Summer Nights' as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as 'Greased Lightnin', 'It's Raining on Prom Night', and 'Alone at the Drive-In Movie'. An 8-year run on Broadway and two subsequent revivals along with place Grease among the world's most popular musicals.

What better way to celebrate the Tony Awards than with your fellow theatre nerds! A special free event, Imagine Productions hosted the First Annual Tony Awards Watch Party on Sunday, June 7, at Wall Street Night Club.
