Previews: SUMMER CABARET SERIES: CHRISTIANE NOLL at CVRep

Coachella Valley Repertory is winding up its 2025 Summer Cabaret Series on July 31 with brilliantly talented Tony Award nominee Christiane Noll. Adding to the celebratory mood of her return to the series is the recent announcement that Noll has been cast to portray the iconic role of Mother Abbess (“Climb Every Mountain”) in Concord Theatricals and NETworks Presentations upcoming national tour of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music. (www.SoundOfMusicOnTour.com) Tony Award-winning Jack O’Brien will direct the new production.

Christiane Noll appeared in Ragtime (Tony Award nomination), Urinetown, Mambo Kings, It Ain't Nothin’ But The Blues, Jekyll & Hyde, Grease, Miss Saigon, City of Angels, and South Pacific. She appeared in the films The King & I (singing Anna), Noll received critical acclaim in Closer Than Ever (York Theatre Co.), Witches of Eastwick (Signature Theatre, VA), New Moon (Encores!), Lizzie Borden (Goodspeed Opera), The Student Prince (Paper Mill Playhouse), and the Lincoln Center American Songbook Series. She is much sought after as a symphony soloist, having performed with Marvin Hamlisch, Don Pippin and Peter Nero. She made her opera debut with Washington National Opera opposite Plácido Domingo.

Each year, CVRep’s Summer Cabaret Series runs for at least two months, with twice weekly performances by Broadway and musical theatre stars and veterans singing songs and sharing before and behind-the-scenes stories from the CVRep stage. Appearing earlier in this summer’s series were Sally Mayes, Glenn Rosenblum, Gregg Sherman, Ilene Graff, Leslie Tinnaro, Kelly Lester Alix Korey, Susan Edwards Martin, Julie Garnyé, Dawn Cantwell, Wayne Bryan, Garrett Taylor, Claybourne Elder, and David Burnham. Jeff Harnar and Lee Roy Reams will appear on July 24 and July 29 respectively, with Ms. Noll’s July 31 show closing this popular annual summer series.

CVRep’s intimate 208-seat playhouse and Conservatory are located in Cathedral City, one of the many communities in Southern California’s desert resort region that also includes Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, La Quinta, and Indian Wells.
