Latin Music Meets Gershwin. California Desert Chorale Presents WE'VE GOT RITMO At The Indian Wells Theatre

By:

The California Desert Chorale (CDC) is proud to present "We've Got Ritmo" for its upcoming spring concert. This vibrant programis divided into two distinctly different halves, which compliment each other quite nicely. ACT 1 will feature dynamic, percussive choral music of Latin America, with driving, rhythmic music of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico by Oscar Escalada, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Ariel Ramirez. ACT 2 is devoted exclusively to the extraordinary music of the legendary composer and pianist George Gershwin, including such classic favorites as "I Got Rhythm", "Love Is Here to Stay", "Fascinatin' Rhythm" and "Someone to Watch Over Me." The program will culminate with a dazzling medley of songs from Gershwin's only opera, Porgy and Bess.

This not-to-miss show will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. For tickets visit www.CaliforniaDesertChorale.org. These two concerts will be performed at the Indian Wells Theater at California State University San Bernardino - Palm Desert Campus at 37-500 Cook St. in Palm Desert.

"I am constantly searching for concert programming that inspires and entertains. "We've Got Ritmo" will have attendees tapping their feet in the first ACT and singing along with the chorale in the second ACT," said Tim Bruneau, CDC Artistic Director.

The California Desert Chorale season continues with its final production, Friends in Song Spring Fundraiser on Sunday, April 9 at 3:00p.m. Note: The date has changed, but the location remains the same. This event is always a crowd pleaser with songs sung by chorale members, interns, the SWEETHOTS, CDC's small ensemble along with special guest artists. The event is FREE to the public, but CDC suggests a $20 donation. This CDC fundraiser will be at the Kirkjan Family Hall of St. Garabed Armenian Apostolic Church at 38-905 Monterey Avenue in Rancho Mirage.

To purchase tickets and for a variety of ways to support the California Desert Chorale, call 760-346-4933 or visit the chorale's website www.CaliforniaDesertChorale.org. Press inquiries should be directed to Jeff Hocker, Hocker Productions at 760-409-1530 or jeffhocker1@gmail.com.
