CVRep to Honor Gavin MacLeod at 'TWISTED BROADWAY' Gala

The Coachella Valley Repertory Theatre, now in its Capital Campaign phase to raise funds for their relocation to Cathedral City's Desert Cinemas (once the Imax Theatre), has announced their upcoming December, 2017 Fundraiser Gala Event - Twisted Broadway, an evening of madcap fun, featuring a lineup of talented Broadway artists performing songs that were originally written for the opposite gender as well as songs they always wanted to sing but couldn't because they would be miscast. The evening's entertainment will also include parodies of some of Broadway's most popular shows.

The CVRep Twisted Broadway Gala Event will also pay tribute to actor, Gavin MacLeod, who will be the recipient of CVRep's first SUPERSTAR APPRECIATION AWARD.

"Presenting this award to Gavin MacLeod is a great thrill for me," says CVRep Artistic Director Ron Celona. "Gavin has contributed so much of his time and energy to CVRep over the years and his support has truly helped us grow to become a cultural force in our community."

Twisted Broadway will be presented in three acts of songs between three acts of food and wine to give audience members the opportunity to enjoy their meal and socialize with friends between the entertainment.

"It's going to be a fun filled night of great Broadway music, laughter, and food - for the ultimate goal of continuing to present high quality, thought provoking live theatre to Coachella Valley residents and visitors at CVRep," says CVRep Board President, Joe Giarrusso. "We've always wanted to do something different, fun and challenging for our annual Gala Event, and this year's event will certainly meet that goal."

The Twisted Broadway Gala, chaired by Phyllis Eisenberg, Peggy Jacobs and Barbara Monachino will feature veteran CVRep performers, Julie Garnye, Erica Hanrahan-Ball, Jeffrey Landman, Sal Mistretta, Perry Ojeda, Leslie Tinnaro, and Robert Yacko.

Directed by CVRep Artistic Director Ron Celona, with Musical Direction by Wayne Abravanel, CVRep's Twisted Broadway Fundraiser Gala will be held at the Agua Caliente Casino on Wednesday, December 13th at 6PM.
