Victoria Playhouse Petrolia Named 2017 Celebrate Ontario Grant Recipient

By:

Victoria Playhouse Petrolia (VPP) is once again a recipient of The Government of Ontario's Celebrate Ontario grant and has been named a Success Story on their online release. The very name of the grant, Celebrate Ontario 2017, ties directly in with the mandate of the 2017 VPP season, which celebrates Canada during the year it turns 150.

The theatre's Co-Artistic Director David Hogan expressed his excitement upon receiving the news, saying, "We are thrilled to be supported by Celebrate Ontario as we forge ahead with an all-Canadian season. Happy birthday Canada, and thank you Celebrate Ontario for joining our celebration!" Echoing Hogan's sentiment, Director of Cultural Services for the town of Petrolia, Richard Poore said, "We are honoured to once again have the opportunity to partner with Celebrate Ontario as we create amazing experiences for our guests traveling from near and far."

The money will be used to enhance the various productions, add a uniquely Canadian experience for VPP patrons and for some patriotic surprises, still being planned.
