Engelbert Humperdinck Set for Van Wezel January 19

January 10, 2014 International legend Engelbert Humperdinck plays the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall Sunday, January 19th at 8:00pm. Mr. Humperdinck's impressive forty year international career has sold over 150 million records and remains a constant force in the music industry. With his heavenly voice, romance serves as the core of Engelbert Humperdinck's music with his number one hits, "Release Me," "The Last Waltz," "After the Lovin," and "A Man Without Love".

In 1967 Humperdinck's version of "Release Me", recorded in his well-known suave ballad style made the top ten on both sides of the Atlantic and number one in Britain, taking away the number one slot from The Beatles' in the UK. "Release Me" spent 56 weeks in the Top 50 in a single chart run. "Release Me" was believed to have sold 85,000 copies a day at the height of its popularity, and is one of the best known of his songs.
