Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and Lake Highland Preparatory School Unveil Student-Created Project

By: Oct. 22, 2014

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and Lake Highland Preparatory School will host an event unveiling the Lake Highland Preparatory School student work, L'Enfant de Miro on October 23 at 10:00 a.m. Partnering with the school's faculty, Arts League and the Dr. Phillips Center, students from Pre-K through 12th grade participated in creating the surrealistic 4'x3' mixed media piece, inspired by Joan Miro's Carnival of Harlequin, as a gift for the Dr. Phillips Center School of Arts. The event will include presentations by Lake Highland President Warren Hudson, Dr. Phillips Center President Kathy Ramsberger and a performance by Lake Highland student singers.

"We are excited to welcome the students and faculty of Lake Highland to the Dr. Phillips Center to celebrate arts education and great partnerships," said Kathy Ramsberger, president of the Dr. Phillips Center. "We're also excited to see this great work of art and show the students the piece's new home."

The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. on October 23 at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts on 155 East Anderson Street and conclude at 10:30 a.m.
