Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre (CityRep) opens their Ninth Season with AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, the Pulizer Prize-winning tragicomedy by Oklahoma playwright Tracy Letts. In addition to the Pulizter Prize, AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY also won the Tony, Drama Desk, Drama League and Outer Critircs Circle awards for Best Play, and was named BEST PLAY OF THE DECADE by Entertainment Weekly. CityRep is honored to be one of the first companies in the United States awarded the professional performance rights.

A vanished father. A pill-popping mother. Three sisters with shady little secrets. When the large Weston family unexpectedly reunites after Dad's disappearance at the Oklahoman homestead, a maelstrom of repressed truths and unsettling secrets erupt. Mix in a touch of Voilet, the drugged-up, scathingly acid matriarch, and you have a major , new play that unflinchingly-and uproariously-exposes the dar side of an Oklahoma family.

Featured in the CityRep production is Pam Dougherty as Violet and Stacey Logan as daughter, Barbara. Ms. Dougherty last appeared with CityRep as Judith Bliss in HAY FEVER, and was called "the best actress of her generation" by the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. Ms. Logan played Hayley Walker in CityRep's production of BAD DATES, and appeared in the original Broadway companies of SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS as Rita, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST as Babette, BIG as Abigail, and in Hal Prince's CANDIDE as Paquette. Also appearing are Ruth Charnay, Brooke Culbertson, Sarah dAngelo, Ben Hall, Cindy Hanska, Michael Jones, Rick Allen Lippert, D. Lance Marsh, Craig Pruitt, Jonathan Beck Reed, and Kris Schinske.
Guest Artist René Moreno, who directed the CityRep production of ZOMBIE PROM, will direct AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY. Scenic Design is by Ben Hall, Ligting Design by Tristan Decker, Costume Design by Aaron Patrick Turner, Sound Design by Steve Emerson, and Properties by Josh Cain.

AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY will play in the Freede Little Theatre at the Civic Center Music Hall at 201 N. Walker in downtown Oklahoma City. Previews begin on Thursday, October 7 at 8:00 pm. The Opening Night is Saturday, October 9 at 8:00 pm, with the final performance on Sunday, October 10 at 2:00 pm.
