CityRep To Hold Auditions For PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE 8/22

CityRep is holding Equity and non-Equity auditions for adult performers for THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE this Saturday, August 22 at 12:00 noon. Auditions will consist of singing from the score. You will be taught the material at the audition. A familiarity with the material would be helpful, but is not necessary. A location for the auditions is still to be determined. CityRep produces under an AEA Small Professional Theatre, Tier 1 contract. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

Roles Available:

Coneybear's Mother/Olive's Mother - Female, 25-40, FINE singer, sings THE I LOVE YOU SONG.

Coneybear's Father/Olive's Father - Male, 25-40, FINE singer, sings THE I LOVE YOU SONG.

Logainne's Fathers - 2 Males, 25-40, able to sing harmonies well, able to play comedy. This is a gay couple.

These roles will also cover the roles of Rona Lisa Peretti, Douglas Panch, and Mitch Mahoney.

Again, auditions will consist of singing from the score. A familiarity with the material would be helpful, but not necessary.

In the musical comedy THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser.
